Data Carpentry - R for Ecologists

Data Carpentry develops and teaches workshops on the fundamental data skills needed to conduct research. Its target audience is researchers who have little to no prior computational experience, and its lessons are domain specific, building on learners' existing knowledge to enable them to quickly apply skills learned to their own research. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.

This is an introduction to R designed for participants with no programming experience. The workshops start with some basic information about R syntax, the RStudio interface, and move through how to import CSV files, the structure of data frames, how to deal with factors, how to add/remove rows and columns, how to calculate summary statistics from a data frame, and an introduction to data visualization with ggplot2.

This workshop is open to anyone, not just ecologists!

*We have limited space, so please only register for the in-person option if you are able to attend all 3 dates.*
