Open OKState | First Tuesday "OER: What, Why and Who"

Learn the basics about OER and how their adoption, modification, and creation align with the mission and vision of Oklahoma State University. Participants will learn what open educational resources are, why they are used in higher education, and who benefits most from their inclusion in teaching, learning, and research. If you have time before, explore the Open Educational Resources: Basics and Beyond course, looking in particular at the OER 101 mini-course. Kathy Essmiller and Simon Ringsmuth will be available during this OpenOKState First Tuesday session to answer specific questions and direct you to resources suitable for the projects you have in mind. Once you feel comfortable with the asynchronous mini-course material and have had your questions answered by Kathy and Simon, complete the Online Consoritum of Oklahoma OER 101 Credential Quiz (just a few short questions asking how you might use OER) and add the OCO (Regents) OER 101 Badge to your portfolio.
