Open Pedagogy: Democratizing Knowledge Curation

Incorporation of open practices and creative assessment into courses can "enhance educational diversity [and] democratize knowledge creation", but designing those interactions can be overwhelming and time consuming. Join colleagues in an asynchronous online book study of A Guide to Making Open Textbooks with Students, a handbook for faculty exploring open pedagogy. You are welcome to read the entire book, or sip and dip as you find what best suits the teaching and learning environment you hope to create. Our interactions will be informal and, no doubt, delightful. Optional questions to guide your exploration will be published each Monday through the summer. Discussion will be facilitated through use of the Hypothes.is platform; participants will be provided an account following registration. Information and reviews related to the book may be found at this website. A free and open version of the book is available through OpenOKState at this link, where you will find file types available for a variety of devices.
