2018 unCOILed Workshop: Empowering Students through Web Literacy and Sustainable Info-Environmentalism

Empowering Students through Web Literacy and Sustainable Info-Environmentalism

Please join us for the annual Community of Oklahoma Instruction Librarians “unCOILed” workshop in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Friday, August 3 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (registration begins at 9:15). This year’s workshop is inspired by the work of Mike Caulfield and will focus on resources and methods to improve our information environment through library instruction. Similar to last year, this workshop will feature discussions, group work, and will culminate in the planning of an activity appropriate for the classroom. For more information on Mike Caulfield, please read Info-Environmentalism: An Introduction and Web Literacy for Student Fact-Checkers

Do you have an example of a web/media literacy lesson that you’ve implemented at your institution? When you register, you can submit a proposal for a 5-minute session during our lightning round.

Registration is only $15. Snacks/beverages will be provided throughout the workshop and prizes will be offered at the end of the day. Students can register for FREE.

Two quick steps to register:

1. Click the "Begin Registration" button below to fill out your registration form.

2. Payment can be made via the PayPal link immediately below or through cash/check on the day of the conference. Remember, if you are a student, you do not need to pay.
