Carpentries - Introduction to Unix and Python (Zoom)
Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This 3-part workshop series will introduce Unix and Python and is designed for participants with no programming experience. The Unix lesson will guide learners through using file systems and the shell. The Python lessons start with some basic information about Python syntax, the Jupyter notebook interface, and moves through how to import CSV files, using the pandas package to work with data frames, how to calculate summary information from a data frame, and a brief introduction to plotting.

Plotting and Programming in Python: Part 1 – Friday, Oct. 4
Plotting and Programming in Python: Part 2 – Friday, Oct. 11
