Data Bytes - Exploring AI Tools for Research: A Hands-on Workshop

Join the Library for a hands-on workshop exploring AI-powered tools that can enhance various aspects of the research process. Designed for faculty and graduate students, this session will provide an overview of available AI tools and their applications in literature reviews, writing/editing, reading assistance, presentation development, organization, and citation management.

What to Expect:

  • Discussion & Exploration: Share your concerns, expectations, and current experiences with AI in research.
  • Ethical Considerations: A discussion on responsible AI use.
  • Breakout Sessions: Small-group discussions on different types of AI tools, with hands-on opportunities to explore them.
  • Wrap-Up & Q&A: Address remaining questions and gather feedback.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with a number of AI research tools, including Perplexity, Research Rabbit, Connected Papers, NotebookLM, Parsifal, Grammarly, Ryter, Zotero, and more. Our instructors will guide you through practical applications while addressing important considerations for ethical and effective use of these tools in academic research.

Registration required. Please bring your own device (a limited number of laptops will be available). Space is limited to ensure personalized attention during hands-on activities.
