Developing Effective Conference and Poster Presentations

This is a workshop that will help participants understand the basics for creating effective conference and poster presentations. Participants will bring a writing project they are planning on presenting at a conference in the future and will learn how to present their writing projects to a wider, professional and/or academic audience in an effective and efficient manner.

In this workshop, we will go over the following:

  • Rhetorical moves of presentations
  • Use of visuals/quotes
  • Condensing work into a presentation format
  • Tailoring your research for different audiences
  • Practicing presenting
